1-19---the preteriteThe Preterite
Subject Area: Spanish IB Grade Level: GRADE 8 Unit Title: EL OCIO Lesson Title: THE NITTY GRITTY OF THE PRETERITE
Objectives: 1. Students will talk about past and current preferences in free time activities. 2. Students will talk about past actions. 3. Students will prepare/rehearse their presentations for FRIDAY!
Materials/Resources Needed:
1. Student notes guide/ the preterite (handout not online!) 2. Video- The preterite (homework!)--SEE INDEPENDENT PRACTICE BELOW
Anticipatory Set: ESPONJA 1. PUT THE FOLLOWING VOCABULARY INTO ONE OF THE TWO LISTS
A) PARA HACER EN EL MAR... B) PARA HACER EN LA PLAYA...
VOCABULARIO: nadar, ir de surfing, poner la crema protectora, tomar el sol, jugar con balon de playa, bucear, correr las olas, construir castillos de arena, tener un picnic, montar la plancha de vela
Objective/Purpose: Complete a notes guide, watch a mini-film on preterite as follow up, practice our presentations!
Input: Preterite notes guide 1! Work with hour 1. Discuss after 10 minutes!
Model: Students work through notes guide and help each other out. I monitor and provide feedback!
Check for Understanding: Review packet with students!
Guided Practice: Practice presentation in the last 5 minutes of class!
Closure: In stake-holders note book write down 3 preterite tense verbs!
