Escuchando las presentaciones...

Esponja

Do your best to complete the smudged concert ticket with its missing letters: for the most part the letters complete preterite endings. Be careful though, the concert ticket hast to make sense!

Metas de hoy...

I. MEET THE PARAMETERS OF THE NEXT CULMINATING ACTIVITY BY PREPARING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Finish listening to all three conversations. (Check in those sheets with Mr. Vaughn!)

      • Notes 3- Transitions: Write this list down with its definitions by heading over to http://quizlet.com/print/345652/ and clicking on the terms list towards the bottom. Jot down 10 transitional words and phrases (Spanish and meanings) that you could incorporate into a presentation on EL OCIO.

    WHAT IS THIS ALL FOR?

TASK- Mr. Ricci has asked you to survey students in your Spanish class and to prepare a presentation for your teachers. It seems our 8th Grade trip has been rather boring in recent years and he and your teachers would like to hear your opinions. You are to illustrate your knowledge of what other students did in their free time in attempt to "sell"  Mr. Ricci and your teachers on the BEST 8th GRADE VIAJE EVER! Will we go to the beach or skiing? It is up to you!

AUDiENCe- Consists of teachers; all requests should be polite! Keep an eye on grammar as past tense and present tense should be used throughout these activitites accurately!

PROCEDURE- Persuade us! Create a mini-commercial or a jingle that sells your ideas for the School trip. Commercials may be acted out or recorded.

PERFORMANCE- Presentations are oral but may be recorded ahead of time. Commercials or Jingle must include: (VISUALS) Images of the place that you would have us go. An argument as to why your choice is the best (main argument), testimonials and examples (support), and end on a high note (closing!) Distribute work evenly. No SLACKING ALLOWED! You may not work with more than 2 other people! You may work alone!

*****Presentations may not have a single drop of English and must reference at least 3 statements (testimonials) made in other conversations you heard!

INPUT: Make sure you know the following by the end of class!

1) How to write a comparison using the preterite.

2) Identify some transitions to make the sentences varied and your presentations interesting.

OUTPUT/ TAREA

Write out a 7 statement paragraph that compares what you did to what others did that incorporate transitions!

Examples:

Para empezar Juan dijo que fue a la playa pero yo nade en el mar. (To start with Juan said that he went to the beach but I swam in the sea.)

A mi paracer me gusto bucear pero Nando le gusto charlar con las chicas. (At the start ---of vacation---I liked to snorkel but Nando liked to chat with the girls.)

Roberto y Alberto hicieron muchas cosas: esquiaron la pista y tomaron el telesilla. (Robert and Albert did any things: they skied the course and took the ski lift.)

Simplest comparative structure: I did ________ but he/she did ___________.

Yo buceé en el mar pero Elena escribió un texto.

Yo tomé el sol pero Miguel fue de pesca.
