Today we will be Google-Jockeying.  This is because your class is a bit further than the rest of the sections. This will be a fun way to slow things down a bit and to re-center ourselves after the mini-break of last FRIDAY.

• Links to travel guides for Latin America including

  • Travel TIps
  • Airport Courtesy and Services
  • Top travel desitnations to LATINA AMERICA
• Links to images of travel related vocabulary (realia)
• Travel Maps to Latin American countries
• Fiestas in Latin America

Tasks

• In teams find 6 outstanding links for each category (Spanish present progressive, travel guides (in Spanish and English), destinos de AMERICA LATINA, mapas de viajar, fiestas de America Latina

Tips for Finding and Rating Good Spanish Culture WebSites

• As you peruse websites, discuss in your groups each site according to this criteria:
  • Is it clear and concise?
  • Is the information useful and does it seem accurate?
  • Can you pinpoint the author of the site?
  • Is it a state/country run web site or is it simply trying to provide services or goods for profit? (airplane tickets, etc.)
• Finding good sites: Use http://www.google.com or http://dogpile.com and search specific key words. When you find a site, answer the questions above. Typically, for what we are doing .edu, .org, .gov, are decent domains (categories of websites) and are typically not-for-profit. That means that the information they provide is not for sale. Typically that means good, quality information.
